Well, I don't think it's funny either, but there's something nice about it.
Same thing with "in my eye" one. I didn't laugh at it, but for some reason I consider it good one.
I guess it has something to do with the references (I liked all the Cthulhu comics), biology (this one, the "if you were like a barnacle") and gore/monsters (in my eye).
As for genuine funniness - "Unmasked (46)", "Ground is made of tasty (37)" and "Balloon (53)" all made me laugh out loud. Simple gags with punchlines that matter.

Unfortunately (for you :p ) there may be plenty more like this in the future as it's easily my biggest success ever. I've never gotten so much overwhelmingly positive feedback for a comic as this one, and people who weren't familiar with the animals involved seem to find it even funnier. Then they go off to read the article and appreciate it on another level for scientific accuracy :D

What I'm generally being told is that the facial expression/delivery and dramatic buildup of the last panel is the single funniest thing I have ever created, but that the first and third panels are funny all on their own as well.

I think it became my personal favorite before I even started getting feedback, though. Almost tied with the "It's in my eye" comic (which is my second most-praised ever)
