Actually, though it was after this, Pokemon itself did it! Black and White 2 had a Movie Studio minigame, and one of the movies you made was about an apocalyptic future where Pokemon control people. Much more clean and kid-friendly than this, though, of course.

Wow, if you think about it, Pokemon are just deformed animals, so why not have a deformed human as your pokemon

Really dark and creepy, especially when you consider that Pokemon exhibit all kinds of human-like behaviour...

Well, anyway I really love the two monster guys in this one. I wouldn't mind seeing them in more comics.

Yeah, Flapjack certainly has beautiful textures and lineart. In fact much of the awkward WTF??? shock-humor, over the top facial expressions and grotesque monsters/people it comes up with now that i think about it really bears a great similarity to your artistic sensibilities. I wouldn't be surprised to learn if Flapjack was a big influence for a lot of your ideas. That's cool, not saying you steal anything, (you're likely too damn hyper-imaginative to purely copy anything without obviously messing around with it somehow and making it some newfangled original beasty of yours anyway) since you know most great artists, writers, musicians grew their own great ideas from previous cool stuff they liked, and you often know someone is good when you take a look at who specifically they choose as their influences.

AWESOME idea, one which I also once imagined up! Only my trainer-poke's were just boring ordinary people...and that fiend guy on the bottom is probably actually one of the only monsters of yours from your eternally wide and awesome diverse universe, who genuiely scares me. The other guy is that hatchet fish from your Abyss flash cartoon. (although they kinda freak the hell outta me period in reality.) But seriously, he is going to help give me nightmares, cos he looks like a bogeyman I've had troubles with before seeing at my window and at the foot of my bed in night terrors in the past. I'd see him when having sleep paralysis moments (read up on this in wiki if you don't know what that is, its rather fascinating) and often out the corner of my eye when I had nightmares about being in the shower. Goddamnit Joe. You finally suceeded. And I couldn't be happier for it. Nightmare-monster fuel, is the most inspiritave fun kind around (once yer awake and turned the lights on.)

I absolutely LOVE that fleshy mouth-crab. I also like the single tear coming out of Jim's eye, suggesting he is in fact dimly aware of his pathetic, hopeless state. Either that or his tear glands don't work properly.
Also the grainy background really helps cement the mood here.

I'm sure somewhere or other a "reversal" of Pokemon has been joked about, like in a gaming comic or something. It's such an obvious joke and Pokemon is over a decade old :)

Thats a Great idea for a Pokemon parody game, and as far as I know, their has not been any other version of Pokemon where the Monsters are the one to use Humans to fight in battles. So your idea is the frist of it's kind to come up with this cool idea. You sould make this idea into a real game, I would buy it.
